BTS Awarded The Prestigious Hwagwan Order Of Cultural Merit

BTS officially become the youngest recipients and the first idol group to receive South Korea’s highest civil cultural honour.

On October 24, all seven members of BTS received the Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit under their real names at the 2018 Korean Popular Culture & Arts Awards.

The news comes to no surprise as BTS had been previously announced as the honour’s recipients earlier this month. The group had been selected over esteemed candidates equipped with decades of experience in their respective field in favour of their remarkable contributions to the development of the nation’s popular arts and culture.

At the ceremony, each member presented a short acceptance speech, showing gratitude towards their agency and staff members, families, and fans but also a determination to further the spread of Korean culture in their position.

In particular, member Jimin also took his appreciation to Twitter, posting a sincere thank you to fans along with a lovely image of the medal in his hands.

In usual fashion, ARMYs celebrated the special event under #BTSCulturalMeritMedal, showing their immense pride in the group and their accomplishments.

Thoughts? How proud are you of the boys? Aren’t they so deserving? So much has happened within such a short time period. No one can’t deny that BTS are truly one of a kind at this stage. Tweet us at @ForeverBTScom!
