BTS and Their ARMY Score At 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards

BTS and their dedicated fans take home two awards at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

On November 4, BTS and their fans, the ARMY, took home two awards at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, winning ‘Best Group’ and ‘Biggest Fans’.

BTS were able to win over fellow nominees 5 Seconds of Summer and PRETTYMUCH for the ‘Best Group’ category. The group are also taking home the award for ‘Biggest Fans’ with their ARMYs beating out artists Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, and Taylor Swift.

Artists and celebrities on this year’s red carpet also showed love for the group. Established names like Jason Derulo, Halsey, and Terry Crews commended them for their hard work and skills as performers.

The MTV Europe Music Awards, or most commonly known as the EMAs, aims to celebrate the international and continental music scene, recognising achievements in diverse musical genres and geographical regions. Since 2007, audiences have been able to cast their vote for the ceremony’s traditional categories online. This year’s awards ceremony was held at the Bizkaia Arena (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) in Barakaldo, Spain, and was hosted by Hailee Steinfeld.

BTS have previously been recognised by the awards show, having been nominated for ‘Best Korean Act’ in 2014. The group would then later win the award for the same category the following year while also scoring a nomination for ‘Best Asian Act’ in 2015.

Thoughts? Did you see this win coming? Did you see their bag? Can we also expect the boys to snag more wins with South Korea’s upcoming award season? It’s been scientifically proven that those who stream ‘mono’ and ‘Waste It On Me’ live ten years longer than those who don’t, so get onto that! Tweet us at @ForeverBTScom!
