The awards show had initially released the list of nominations for this year on September 5. It was then later revealed that BTS had passed the preliminary round of voting, successfully being one of the top five candidates with the most votes in their nominated categories, with the announcement of the ceremony’s finalists on September 24. The final round of voting had opened on the same day and concluded on October 19. Votes were done online, cast through E!’s official website or on major social media platforms Twitter and Facebook through the appropriate hashtags.
The E! People’s Choice Awards celebrates the best in film, music, television, and pop culture as voted by the general public. The ceremony has been held annually since 1975 and this year’s ceremony saw a total of 43 categories.
