BTS Becomes The First Korean Act To Sell Out A U.S. Stadium

Tickets for the Citi Field stadium stop in New York City for BTS’ Love Yourself tour have officially sold out.

Similar to their previous arena dates, tickets for the Kpop group’s New York City stadium show had sold out within a matter of minutes of going on sale.

Tickets for the Love Yourself tour’s Citi Field show went on sale on August 17 at 4 pm EST and after an hour, the venue took to Twitter to announce that the concert had successfully sold out.

It was recently reported that the Kpop group would become the first Korean act to perform a solo concert at a U.S. stadium with the addition of New York’s Citi Field to the Love Yourself tour for October 6, making the venue the final stop in the group’s North American leg.

The group joins the likes of Citi Field’s previous performers such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Paul McCartney. The U.S. stop marks a first for any Kpop group with the venue holding a capacity of an approximate 40,000 seats with selling out tickets within a matter of minutes being a feat a number of established U.S. artists struggle with.

So far, BTS have successfully sold out all scheduled shows for the Love Yourself tour for this year with more stops to be announced. The tour’s first show will be at Seoul Olympic Stadium on August 25, shortly following the group’s release of their upcoming album Love Yourself: Answer.
