BTS Makes History As The First Kpop Group To Break The UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 40

The group celebrates success on the UK Charts with their most recent comeback.

BTS leave their mark on UK Chart history with Idol becoming their first Top 40 hit single, the first for any Kpop group.

On August 31, their latest single, Idol, entered the official chart at Number 21 with 4,000 digital downloads and 2.5 million streams, both the original album version and the exclusively online version featuring Nicki Minaj counting towards the group’s chart position.

The new chart entry breaks BTS’ own record with the song surpassing their last title track, Fake Love, which reached Number 42 earlier this May. Idol has also charted on Offical Irish Singles Chart at Number 33, and the Scottish Singles Chart Number 10.

To also add to the Kpop group’s impressive list of feats, their newest album, Love Yourself: Answer has entered the Official Albums Chart at Number 14, claiming the group’s third UK Top 20 album with the previous Love Yourself albums also ranking on Top 20 chart.
