BTS’ ‘Spring Day’ Hits The Milestone For 200 Million Views

The global pop sensation adds another YouTube feat to the list of impressive accomplishments.

On September 24, BTS became the Korean act to have the most music videos with over 200 million views as ‘Spring Day’ became their tenth music video to hit the YouTube milestone.

Directed by creative collective, Lumpens, ‘Spring Day’ was released on February 2, 2017, as the lead single for the group’s repackaged album, ‘You Never Walk Alone’ and scored Best Music Video at the 19th Mnet Asian Music Awards in the year of its release.

The music video is noted for drawing inspiration from Ursula K. Le Guin’s fictional short ‘The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas’ and speculation for being a tribute to the victims of the Sewol Ferry Incident.

‘Spring Day’ now joins other music videos to have hit the 200 million mark, including the likes of ‘FAKE LOVE’, ‘MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)’, ‘DNA’, ‘Not Today,’ ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears’, ‘Save ME,’ ‘FIRE’, ‘DOPE,’ and ‘Boy In Luv.’

In typical ARMY fashion, fans took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement by trending #SpringDay200M.

The group also achieved another Youtube feat with their 2017 hit ‘DNA’ reaching the 500 million YouTube view mark, the first for any Kpop group.

Thoughts? What other music videos can we expect to hit the mark? Justice for ‘Run’, maybe? What music video do you think it the group’s best? Also, remember to stream ‘IDOL’ for good grades! Tweet us at @ForeverBTScom!
